PROVEN ABILITY TO INNOVATE AND SCALE SINCE 2003
HET Hydrogen was established by parent company Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies, which is a well known innovator in Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) core technologies in materials, components and systems. Horizon has successfully launched numerous PEM product platforms, and sold smaller electrolsers around the world for 15 years before launching MW-scale systems through HET.
By bringing to market substantial installed manufacturing capabilities as well as deep knowhow in PEM technologies, HET is able to rapidly enter the market and prepare to supply large projects with shorter lead-times than currently prevail. There is over 1.2GW per year of installed MEA production capacity in the group.
KEY FEATURES OF HET’s M-Technology
The inhouse PEM technologies were previously used primarily for fuel cell applications, and for the production of thousands of small electrolysers since 2008. With increasing demand for green hydrogen around the world, it is a logical step to apply this deep knowhow to the commercialization of MW-scale electrolysers.

We are continuing our 20 years‘ journey of innovation.
While reducing iridium usage by 50% in our commercial MW PEM electrolyser, we are also developing an iridium-free electrolyser, eliminating a major supply constraint for green hydrogen production. With higher current density and efficiency than conventional alkaline electrolysers, using similar but less materials, our next-generation electrolyser will produce green hydrogen more economically than traditional alkaline electrolysers.
